| Well, I measured it off of a gasket, so some of the measurments are off a little bit, nothing that can't be fixed with some design changes.

| Looks great, and that's a hefty part, better than a lot of aftermarket flanges. | |

| Hefty is what we're going for, I don't like wimpy flanges. The headers on my acura have thin flanges and I'm replacong gaskets constantly.
I'll get the drawing fixed today and have another one cut out ASAP.

| I've been very busy lately working, doing side jobs and getting my corolla roadworthy. I'll adjust the drawing soon and get a new flange made.
EDIT: I just adjusted the drawing after I remembered how. I haven't drawn in a while but I've sent it off, my machinist is out of the shop until monday so we'll have a new flange at the end of the week maybe.

| Hey guys! Update here, New flange was cut and picked up a week ago, bolts right up and is ready to go. We're ready to start building soon and I'd like to get an idea of what kind of materials I'll need to bring in. Who would be interested in what? Flange, Headers, full custom intake/exhaust manifold? | |

| This is my first post. My search for a set of 4AC headers led me here. I would love to buy a set of pacesetter style headers for $200- $300 depending on the collector. | |

| 92gsr welcome! Probably specific FWD or RWD since the headers would be different.
I just had an idea! Would it be possible to make a header and side draft manifold off that flange? It would probably cost both arms and legs, but an all-in-one performance header and intake manifolds would be serious stuff. Since it's made together, it could be internally braced for strength, too.

| 92gsr: I can build whatever you want as long as I have something to mock it up on or dimensions to go by. What kind of collector do you want? Give me some details in a PM.
Eric! Yes! That may be one of the first things I do, I don't have a set of side drafts, but I do have a rack of bike carbs for the same idea. As long as I know what is getting mounted where I can build it. That's actually why I had the first flange cut out like this. Now I have all the dimensions on that plane so I can build custom intakes or exhausts or both in one. I have the full flange and the exhaust flange drawn up but it wouldn't take me 5 minutes to knock out an intake flange drawing. If I know what dimensions the carb flange needed to be I'd even draw up a whole intake/exhaust manifold for you.
Glad to see someone else thinking on the same page!
EDIT: Eric, while reviewing my post and re-reading the thread I just thought about the header design, with a factory intake the headers have to drop at a weird angle to clear the intake manifold, if we built an intake and exhaust on the same flange we could get a straight(er) shot at the ports without having funky bends in there, which means higher flow, better efficiency and MORE POWER! I'm getting giddy just thinking about it.

| Well guess what? Longer exhaust runner means the intake tubes will be stretched, and that helps atomization and builds power THROUGHOUT the powerband. All side drafts share a common mount, Weber, Mikuni, Solex, Delorto, whatever. Do you can easily buy a gasket and trace out a flange. For free I found this diagram with pretty specific dimensions that you gotta have, since the bolt holes are offset from the center at a specific angle. | |

| I did find quite a few of those drawings. I wasn't sure if the flange for a 45DCOE was going to be the same as a 40DCOE. I've started a 3D model with flanges for the 45DCOE drawings I found online and started drawing headers out, are we looking for 4-1 or Tri-Y headers? One other thing that comes to mind is the transfer of heat from the exhaust side to the intake side, if our exhaust is 500* and we're throwing fuel at the intake thats drawing heat from the same assembly it may vaporize/ignite the fuel before it makes it to the cylinder. I'll finish the drawing anyways and post it up. Edit: The start mentioned above: | |

| Holy snap that was fast, and exactly what I had in my head. Go nuts with the heat wrap! Makes me want to go back to a 4AC head lol. | |

| Ya know there are companies that will cut you a decent cam and others who can port and polish and you'll have whatever you want! What I've found in my research is that these 4 bangers will benefit more from a 4-1 as opposed to a Tri-Y.
I'll finish up the drawing with a 4-1 collector and try to have it posted tonight.

Eric, I've got an *Ac head, I will trade you! lol

| Well my problem is not the head or ignition parts that are related, my problem right now is the carbs, which would be put on a 4AC head, and STILL be a problem lol. | |

| Sounds like you need some big injectors and a big turbo! Forget the carbs! | |

| Once I get all settled in here at the new place and in my new position at work I'll start back up on this project and get some headers built. | |
