4AC top speed?

Since the speedo only goes to 115 mph (used to hitting that). I decided to have a friend in a SW20 pace me one night. Carb screaming steering shaking but stable I hit 125 mph*. The car needs a 6th gear cause it still wanted to go! Thank god I didn't try that with the stock steering wheel.

*Several months later it was revealed to me by the SW20's passenger that I indeed hit 130 mph.

since i got an ugly ass ricer wing on my rolla and shes really angled for downforced, once i hit 90 i hit a brick wall, she wont go no faster except down a hill, but ive tried jumping her at 90 on a hill i know will get vehicles airborn at 70 and she was like a white on rice to the road, still waiting for brakes so i can take my journy to get my new hatch and sell the indy wing thats on my hatch now.


side note, before u start hating about the ricer wing, i got it on a trade, have no room for it at my place, so i threw it on, and if u have ever seen my hatch, its mostly bondo, so its no lose

I have hit 100-105 in my AE86 coupe on my way to work at 4:30 in the morning. had plenty of power and rpms for more (devacd and webered) but I was afraid the rest of the car was going to come apart. Hopefully after i go through my suspension this spring it will feel a little safer...

105mph with a stock engine? Maybe on a 20% decline with a 20mph tailwind. With a 5-speed and GTS 4.30 rear end I have a hard time making it up inclines at freeway speeds. I want to see GPS proof that you're hitting 105mph. Until then, I'm calling bullshit.

I made it to 105 on a very slight incline... but that was foot to the floor. I also thought that the suspension I had in there at the time could not take much more This is with a 5speed and a SR5 rear

95-99.9 mph on a down hill w/o aftermarket parts.

You can call bullshit all you want. If he had a run at the hill its possible to make 105, I know AE-82's will do 115 and the gearing in a AE-86 couldent be much differnt. So call your bullshit.

HAHAHA... Honestly everybody's car is different with differing levels of shitty old parts... so some can make it, and some can't. Why get upset?

My stock SR5 has done 104 or so (as noted by the speedometer) on flat ground. SR5 rear end, stock T50, stock engine. It took it's dandy time to get there, but it is possible.

i topped out my sr5 at about 115mph going a bit DH, after the weber tho it tops out at about 100 even

Mine can 90 no prob, at 3800 rpm and still have power to go over 100, up to 112

I have a stock carb, stock everything, , maybe because I put zenki bumpers with the heavy braces so its like 100 lbs lighter?

The car does shake like crazy though, feels like a massage chair

My bonestock Corolla FX has once done 175ish on the Speedo(km/h) @5000upm @3 in the Morning and still wanted to pull more.

78HP and 5 Speed manual 4AC.

My 3AC Powered Tercel with 71HP and 5Speed Manual has also done around the same but didnt pulled that much more I think.

When I was a kid I would run my TE27 (2TC) floored at about 85.
Don't want the risk to my 4AC.

My AE86 would do 110-112 with stock engine, and open GTS REAR END.


Took a good mile of highway to do it, but still

about 119MPH with all my bolt-on's parts and about 1/2 a gallon of 75% Nitromethane from my nitro powered RC truck mixed with premium gas. the car just wanted to go, but i had to let off due to traffic.

Best I ever got was 99MPH, on GPS. This was downhill in the mountains with a tailwind of about 5MPH.

The speedometer was a bit more optimistic, falsely showing in the 105-110MPH range.

the fastest ive gone was 80mph... thats with a 3au... imma see what this 4ac got after i replace the blown head gasket... :/ haha... but thanks to 84 hachi for his egr delete thread and videos... the 3a manage to get better throttle response etc. and toping out at 95'ish mph... yay!!!... and i also used that same carb on my other 3ac, 4ac, 3tc and 2tc... they all ran exactly the same almost!!!... for my 2dr, 4dr, and wagon!!!...

managed 155km/h in my ae82 before i got scared, was bog stock, suspension and all on a ratty backroad.

I maxed my AE82 on the german Autobahn tonight.

4AC 78HP 435.000km
Tires: Dunlop Fast Response 195/50/15 (standard is something like 155/80/13)

The Spedo went over 180 topped out at around 185 when the needle hit the bottom.
My Navigation System logged 175km/h (around 110mph) as top speed.

Not bad for such an old engine with this high milage.

Congrats! Just be careful not to blow up your engine.

Mine has seen 110 at the top of fourth gear, I'm afraid to go any faster, shakes like no other. time to get the new wheels and tires.

bout 100 is my limit in my fx, any faster an i think i would shit my pants in that beer can of a car
But i beileve mine could do every bit of the 110 on the speedo if it didnt blow up first

I'm regularly late for work which is a few miles down the freeway. I run about 90 everyday but don't dare to push it much further than that lol
