| What have you got your 4ac up to? I took the ‘rolla out to a long, flat road I frequent, and floored it. It shifted into 3rd at 65…… and kept going. Soon I was at 80, there was an odd noise, kinda’ like a rock in the tire but louder, so I shut it down. It really surprised me, it got to 80 pretty quick, and still had some power left. I know auto 4AC's dyno about ~50whp, but it seemed like it has more. My only mods are a flipped air cleaner lid and no muffler. I’ve been wanting to swap in a carbed 4age, but after a cam, 32/36 weber, and 2.25” straight exhaust with HKS muffler, I think I’ll have plenty of usable power. | |

| My top speed was 105mph, but that was when my car was bone stock and a long time ago. It seems to consistently top out around the mid 90's. | |

| 115mph lol,
Top speed for a AW11 MR2 is 120mph Weight: 950 kg / 2094 lbs Top speed: 193.1 kph / 120.0 mph 0-400m (quarter mile): 16.9 seconds (this figure for the 4AGE N/A engine – approx. 14.5 for a supercharged model) 0-60 mph: 8.9 seconds (4AGE N/A) Lateral Acceleration: 0.816g

Even considering selling the ae82 to help get one. The fastest I have ever been was in my 91 Honda Accord. The speedometer was broke, but I hit the rev limiter in 4th, which I was told was 125

| Top speed can depend on a number of factors. You can be speed limited by the fact that you will be over-reving your engine in fifth gear even though the engine has the power to make the car go faster. Or you could be speed limited by the fact that the engine does not have enough power to reach red line in top gear. A less aerodynamic car with less horsepower that is geared optimally for top speed can have a higher top speed than a more aerodynamic car with more horsepower that is geared for acceleration. | |

| Mine would barely hit 50mph. I blame it on the carb.
On a second note. Someone should put a 4AC in an AW11. Haha. Kind of like putting a D series (SOHC) engine in an Integra.

You know, the engine and drivetrain in my car are in top shape, if I can find a rolling chassis…… Back on topic, for those driving at high speeds (or any speed really), here’s a friendly reminder to make sure your car is in safe driving condition. I had my car jacked up investigating an odd noise I hear when driving, and find that BOTH of my inner tie rods have about 10mm play in them It would suck to lose steering at just 30mph, I can only imagine what would happen at 100+

| An update.
I replaced both inner and outter tie-rods a couple months ago. A few weeks ago, about 3am on a 3-4 mile long straight stretch of highway with no connecting roads and no traffic whatsoever, I was determined to find out the real top speed of my ‘rolla. Making sure my tire pressure was 30lbs all around and nothing was loose in the suspension, I went for it. I went WOT at 50mph, by the end of 2nd sounded like my engine was going to blow, I honestly didn’t thank it was going to shift, but it did. I took 3rd all the way to ~94mph when it just stopped going.
I’ve been 120 in my Honda Accord, and 130 in a older model Ford lightning, but going 94 in a 25 y/o automatic Corolla with ~50whp was more fun then any of them, and more scary, lol.
I have a vid of it I’ll upload later.

| this is the max i have done but a little faster when to 105 before i let off and this is in 4th gear still had 2000 more to go if i wanted to put it at red line and another gear but 5th isnt going to do much more. but from 85 mph at 3500rpms to 100mph and 4000rpms was kinda cool. | |

| i've had my 86 over 60 once or twice, but that's too scary since the tires are falling apart, so i keep it around 50 max lol. I don't know what my 5sfe camry runs because it's just a grandma car lol. I have run 135 in my MazdaSpeed 6 but that was another time and place. | |
