Even closer then before. After picking up a used carb for $20 from a local, I am only failing the HC test at 15mph. So, some progress. I am pretty sure it is a vacuum routing problem. If i leave a vacuum hose(namely, the larger vacuum hose the connects from the bottom of the stock air cleaner to the base of the carb on the engine side) it will blow passing numbers:suspect:
Of course, A smog shop will fail me for having disconnected hoses. When the hose is connected, it runs rich/fails the 15mph HC test.
I really could use any and all possible vacuum routing diagrams. It seriously is so close. If this doesn't work, I dunno what will. My car is an 87 SR5, not even sure if it is a Cali or Federal.
