Hi guys, so.. I'm the new guy here and as stated I don't know a hell of engines... so ... the first thing I found was the swamp engine thing, but I really like the simplicity of the 4A-C and want to keep it, plus the engine is still damn fine hehehe... I do really need to make some touch to it (a lot) but I know that you all can help me up to get a great engine. The idea is to restore my AE86 and pass it to my son (still a toddler)
here is a picture of the engine...

so.. Hi.. where can I start reading and finding all the stuff I need to make this old engine shine like a new baby engine?

Hey guys, I've been browsing around for a while and posting here for a shorter while, but figured I'd introduce myself! XD
You can call me TKD, Connor, that weirdo, whatever you come up with. I've got an '86 SR5 AE86 with some mods, including a muuuch lower mileage 4AC from an '84 with the non-wavy head, a weber 32/26, T3 adjustable control arms, Tanabe GF210 springs with cheap monroe sensatrac struts, Drag DR-20 wheels.. lots of other little 'it was broken so I took it off' mods, etc.
I bought this heap for $300 when I was 16 and my friends were still the kids who lived on the road in my neighborhood, I taught myself everything I know about cars working on this thing. I'll probably tell the full story in another post, but here's a pic of my 86
