| i'm a little confused with the question but the cheapest what to fiberglass you car with some custom to it would be to mode what ever piece you want for your car with form blocks from somewhere like hobby loby and shape it out than lay a small amount of fiber glass over it..... i can't really explain the steps with fiberglass in general but it's cheap and it is one of a kind.i'm doing my front grill for my car since i have a sti bumper placed on right (with out duct tape, lol) now and it would of killed with cost if i had somebody else do something that's not really that hard to do in the first place. i wish i could be more helpful but it's kinda a hard topic and since i am one of those type of people that can't explain things that well, lol... | |

| I don't know about about buying fiberglass parts, but if you want to make them you can take a mold off the existing parts. You give the body part a good waxing so the fiberglass does not stick, and then you lay fiberglass directly up on it. It needs to have a good bit of structure, like having very thick layers of the non-woven cloth after the first couple of layers against the part. Then you pull the body part out and you have your mold. You fix any issues on the surface so it's smooth, wax the mold, and then lay fiberglass up. Fiberglass is not very fun though. That would way too much fiberglass work for me. | |

| It's not the sanding and accompanying itching that bothers me, its all the sticky, nasty, smelly resin that I don't like. I find it hard to keep it off my hands even when wearing gloves. Also trying to keep the fiberglass cloth up against the mold, you push it down, and two seconds later it pops back up. I guess vacuum bagging sorts that out if you have the equipment, but I don't. | |

| I dabbled in fiberglass mould making years ago and I found it to be the biggest pain in the ass ever. All the chemicals, the smell, and the mess one makes doing it isn't worth it. If the part you have is just that rare, or no one makes it there are options: What I ended up doing was going to a custom surf board shop and hiring them to mould, then copy a few parts. And the quality ended up MUCH better then what I could do in my garage.. I got to keep the mould(s) for future popping. Anyone want a set of Schnitzer style flares??? lol | |
