Hello members of this forum.

My name is Lukas and I am from switzerland.
I have two cars

1. 1984 Toyota Corolla AE82 1.6GL Compact (known as FX in the USA) with 1.6l 4AC with 428.000kms on it. This engine still to this day is never been opended. I got the car last year for free from a friend who had it sit in his garage since 1996. It was his first new car. So its a one owner unmodified bone stock car. I am currently restoring it with my dad, it had more than 40 rustholes to mend... Also there is nearly a complete new suspension, new brakes and nearly every part around the engine new. Very Happy Since I got my driving licence in may this year I drove it nearly 15.000kms and it has never broken down. Also funny to see that it does 0-100km/h in 11 seconds but according to the owners manual it does that in 12.2 so my little gem seems to be pretty peppy Laughing Also done a compression test a few weeks ago and all the cylinders have between 10.8 and 11.5 bar left.

2.1983 Toyota Tercel AL21 1.5GL. This one I bought this summer for 800.- bucks had only done 108.000km since I have it I drove it about 4000ks and still runs good. This car unlike the corolla has nearly no rust at all and is pretty mint all around.

Fun fact, in switzerland they sold those cars with the emissionscontrol crap and all those vacuum lines but did not fit a catalytic converter because at the time those where ilegal in our country untill 1986.
So those engines are somehow inbetween the non cat and the cat models. the corolla got 78hp and the tercel 71hp. without the emissionthingies it would be 84 and 77hp. also with cat they have 73 and 68HP.... scratch It can be a bitch to find the correct parts for those cars since there are so many things you have to look up and get to know..

Ive been reading about the 3/4AC engines alot in recent times and there a lot of people saying that those engines are booring sluggish things with not much power... Neutral I my oppinion, thats not true at all. I dont know why they say it but I think they just might get there hands on bad examples with poor condition..

Anyways here are some pics of my two cars.
