PostSubject: Curb Weight   Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:58 am

Just wondering if anyone else has taken their car to a scale and had it weighed. I took my wagon yesterday and it was 2180 with a quarter tank of gas. I was actually pretty surprised, but I don't have bumpers, back seats, PS, AC. I'm curious to know what an AE86 weighs.

Anyone have a weight they wanna post?

I'll be passing by one this weekend, if I remember I'll get it weighed and tell you haha!

I'm pretty curious now.

I used my gutted rolla to run a small load of scrap a few weeks ago. 7A swap, no PS or AC. About as empty as it gets and I was looking at 2280 with me in it and a low tank of gas. I'm about 230 right now. So roughly 2050 gutted and empty.

Edit: That was weight after I unloaded. I was at almost 2600 with my load.

2050 sounds about right. I thought my car was significantly bigger and heavier than an AE86, but I was parked next to a hatch the other day and they were about the same size. Obviously I have two more doors, but they're small compared to a coupe. Still though, a ~2100lb car doesn't take much power to make fun.

Yep, and also there should be a little more weight with the motor swap.

Oh yea...swaps. That reminds me that this damn 8" is at least 75lbs heavier than the old 6.38".
