Now now, let's not be hasty. Rotaries, when properly build and tuned, are total monsters. Find me another 1.3 liter engine that makes 250hp all motor, revs 10k and shoots 4 foot flames between gears. If they didn't get about 10mpg in said configuration, my wagon would already be rotary powered.

haha i know i know rotary

but alrite well it was running alrite till my mechanic took out a after market fpr, like it would run but slugish intill higher rpm. (emission reason why he took it out)

after that i was driveing it and then i parked for awhile, making a phone call , then it just shut off ,
and now everytime i start it , it starts for like 5secs and then stalls itself

i brought it back to the mechanic and he says its deffinetly a fuel issue like it gets just enough gas to start but not run.

i was thinking maybe the fuel filter or the fuel pump needs to be changed, ill try and get video of it and upload

thx for the help guys=]

Sounds fuel pump-ish. The most logical thing to do would be to put the parts back on and see if that fixes it. Or ditch that lame ass fuel injection and put a Holley on that joker. Those things love huge carbs.

I don't know much about the fuel injection on those other than that it is rather inefficient and problematic. Racing Beat, Mazda Trix and Atkins Rotary are all good places for parts and such. If you have the money, a Holley 650 and a header will completely transform the way that car performs.

Other than that, I say buy a few books and start doing some reading. Rotaries are amazing once you understand how they work and what their short comings are. Make sure the metering pump is clean and working well, otherwise your apex and side seals will be toast in no time. This is why they "use" oil. The metering pump mixes oil with your gas like a 2 stroke. This is also why it's important to stay on top of maintenance and ALWAYS check your oil level when you put gas in it.
