i bought a 1987 toyota corolla. its a RWD 4ac automatic. when i drive it it feels like there is something holding it back. thinking about just rebuilding the engine, but i really dont know if that will fix anything. like i said i really dont know and really need some help.

If the engine is bogging/slow to rev, double check your timing. It's the simplest thing that can cause that to happen.

i appreciate the advice also i was changing the pvc valve and i had to remove the valve cover and when i did i quickly checked the lifters and they were all off a bit but is there a set up that would help with the way it performs.
