Congratulations to Adam Crane, he won the inaugural 2011 Joshus A. Norton Rally Championship in an AE86 Corolla. I guess that his usual co-driver Britta Nielsen did not make it to all the events as she came in 8th, but I thought I would mention her anyway as co-drivers never get any love !

I don't know about the headlight covers, but I can make a pretty good guess about the five lug conversion (in the front at least). The front wheels look like they are off a Volvo 240 Turbo. The driver is from the Pacific Northwest, and there is a guy in the area that builds a lot of custom rally suspension. The suspension guy likes Swedish cars (Volvo and Saab), so I would guess it is Volvo 240 struts grafted onto the Corolla. The Volvo 240 has a Dana 30 solid rear end, so they may have modified that to work as well. There may be more info about the car on rallyanarchy.com. I just went and had a look on rallyanarchy, and a found a thread that has some info: http://www.rallyanarchy.com/phorum/read.php?7,48373,48437#msg-48437. acrane is the car owner, john vanlandingham is the suspension guy. If you read far enough down it confirms the Volvo 240 stuff. Don't think that it bolts in though, it is most likley lots of fabrication and custom parts. I have to warn you, I would not join up on rally anarchy and start asking a bunch of questions. They will rip you new one over nothing if the mood strikes them.

Thanks for the heads up, tho I wasn't intending on joining there.
The suspension/5lug conversion questioned, was answered shortly after that post. Honestly ANY rear end can be put into an 86 fairly easily do to it already having a 4 link design. S13 suspension on a 86 is gaining popularity, and then just swap to S14 hubs. bam done. still, I'd love to see a build thread.
head light covers, only look that way on the sleepy eye'd pics of his car. I think now they are stock ones bent down ward so they don't look so bad.

I reread my post and it came out not quite as I intended. I did not mean to say that I think that you sound dumb or anything. They will rip people a new one over not much at that place. I personally would think long and hard before I posted anything on there.

Hahaha, I'm pretty sure I understood what you meant. ClubFAG isn't that bad really, I just dislike that 90% of sellers get butt hurt when you ask them to ship stuff.
I know I can sound dumb at times. Call it a gift, call it a curse. But I wasn't under the impression that you were calling me dumb either. Every forum is very subjective and somewhat hostile towards new members, especially if that said member has interests that differ from the main group. I also realize that in most competitive Motorsports, you don't share secrets, you don't give advice, and you don't go out of your way to help fellow drivers. (For the most part. There is always those guys who are the exception.). Especially drag racers. Man those guys won't hardly listen to two words before chasing you outta their pit with a tire iron.
It's why I like drifters do much. They will literally hold a hot exhaust manifold in place with their "unit" if it meant getting another car back out on the track.
