| Hello there I don't remember the last time i posted something here, but recently I've been forced to work on my SR5 coupe now only because my 01 hyundai broke down at the wrong time. anyways the good news is that i have to work on it to get it to work. I still need to adjust timing. other than that What can be the problem? I don't want to and can't afford to give up on this car. sorry if this photo is too big. i don't really know much of the rules here yet. | |

| So far i've changed sparkplug,air filter. my fault for forgetting to change sparkplug wires and dis. cap/rotors. after the plugs the car starts with no problems. after some oil and fuel/carb cleaners fluids the car ran smoother. the only thing is that after the oil cleaner fluids the car smoked really bad from the exhaust. i felt like no problem since this always happens when i use those products since after every oil change. after turning on and revving it a bit the smoke begins to go away. my car was on for a good 15-30 minutes of revving. after that the car was good better shape than ever. timing was still off. wasn't sure but i think the origninal was 5 degrees but mines was set on 20 degrees. something like that. i still need to get my buddy to help me out with the last bolt on the bottom since i no longer have a jack and only have jack stands.
not sure, but smogging guy told me my problem revolves around the ignition. everything else is good as much as he's seen.
what's done so far:
- air filter - oil change w/ oil cleaner, fuel carb cleaner - spark plug - brake fluid
heres to do next list;
- set timing to OEM specs - o2 sensor - plug wires - dis. cap - dis. rotors - radiator reservior (because i don't have one on it when i bought it. strange :s)

| Update: good news is that i don't have to smog it at a test center only. i only have to do this at a regular smog center. bad news is that i found out my car is leaking oil into the cylinder. especially cylinder number 3 is not good. all 4 plugs are foiled with oil. I'm not sure if i can pass smog but im hoping to at least pass smog. today im smogging it in the afternoon so wish me luck. there is a high chance of failure, but i need to have it passed so bad. if not i might loose my job or worser work hours are so little(10-18 hours a week) that they can't afford to lay me off to have me on unemployment benefits.
here's what's done:
- distributor cap and rotor - plug wires - spark plugs - oil change w/filter - air filter - brake fluid - | |

| sorry for the long wait but it failed visual sold it for 300 bucks to my coworker. he was very happy. he loved it so much after i told him about it. it has lots of potential. at it's current state it is not fast but for sure it handles good and fun too. i told him to do a 7ac to avoid cops in CA. that way it's all wolf in sheep skin. | |

| did you check where the oil was leaking in to the cylinder? could have just been worn valve guides and seals too bad, oh well maybe you'll get lucky and find a sick deal on a gts | |

| Do a compression test. That should give u a idea on what's going on. Could be a burnt valve, valve guides or bad piston rings. | |
