Best/Cheapest way to ship rims????

I have a set of rims for sale but i have never shipped rims before....

yea, i know taking the tires off is recommended....

where have some of you gone?

some general details would help a lot!!!

I use FedEx. They tend to be cheaper and faster than UPS or DHL.
I go to tire and wheels shops for boxes, pack em up myself, then off to a FedEx center for the labels and send them out.

Did you sell your OEM 13"s?
If those are the wheels in question finding a wheel box that size (if you took the tires off that is) might be tricky! But removing the tires brings down the shipping cost dramatically. Shipping for all 4 should be around $40. I sold a set of BMW 13x5.5 from Montgomery, Alabama to Somewhere, Michigan a couple years ago for around that.

Shipping just tires is the easiest thing! I shipped some tires off the wheels, anywhere in the US like $20 each. You don't need to pack tires. Tape on a label and let em roll!

For wheels with or without tires, computer boxes are nice because they're big and weird shaped, and really sturdy.

Oh one more thing to keep in mind, UPS's pack and shop promise thing. Drop your stuff off and say ship it. They pack it however it ought to be, and guarantee it. They broke a VW headlight and refunded my buyer 100% so neither of us were out anything. Plus the guy got to keep the headlights, even though the mount tabs were broke.
