I am in the process of converting my Corolla to fuel injection. I have a few thing to show now so I thought that I would start sharing. First thing I guess is the brain for the project, the ECU. I am using a Microsquirt which is the smaller surface mount component sealed case version of the Megasquirt. The following picture shows the ECU and my mounting bracket.

Then we can move onto the engine side. This pic shows the air filter housing and the two mounting brackets.

I have a 1983 Corolla (with a 4AC) with a 32/36 DGV. I finally got it to idle nicely (with a little bit of shaking) and the mixture right. It starts right up and idles. If I slowly depress the gas pedal, it will rev nicely. But when I blip the throttle or depress the gas pedal 100% (wot) it hesitates. Like it wants to stall. The engine sounds like it stops for a second it's that bad. But only for a split second, then it revs. I have only cleaned the main jet.

I have an adjustable fuel pressure ...

Hi guys, This is a solenoid valve activated electronically when you start the A/C, this lets pass vacuum to an activator that accelerates the car in order to compensate the loss of power, above 2000rpm the solenoid is automatically shut down because it is no longer needed.

If the A/C is off the solenoid remains closed with a spring inside. if the A/C is turned on the solenoid fights the spring and lets the vaccum pass to the activator on the carburetor.

This is not working for me, ...

Well about two months ago i picked up this gem for just about $400.00

It was litterally sitting under a tree. i asked the guy and he told me 1500. weeks went by. i asked agian came down to 1000 i told him i would be back in a month. he never had a for sale sign in it. it just sat there. i knocked on the door and told him what i had. he said no less than 400. i saved up the money and rolled over and drove it home.

Right now I'm idling about 1100-1000rpm, is this the ideal idle speed? Shouldn't the 4AC idle @ 850RPM? The car runs great, however fuel economy isn't so great. I read somewhere that my idle speed circuit is responsible for low RPM range-so tuning the idle circuit should yield me better fuel economy. My question is that I want better fuel economy, so should I lower my idle speed or should I lower my air/fuel mixture thanks. I drive very economically, with low rpm shifts, so I should be running ...

Any ideals?

You can tell us what wheels you have on your car in this thread.

I have 6 spoke wheels from an early 80's Datsun 280Z. They are from the junkyard so they are cheap, and reasonably light as well. They also have low backspacing which helps me clear the helper spring and adjustable lower spring perch on the front suspension. The front struts are set up for lots of suspension travel, and the perch is quite low on the strut which is what causes problems. I also have to use a 0.25" spacer ...

I'm not sure if this is a tunability error, but it seems that when I floor the accelerator pedal, it has as much effect as putting the throttle half way. The car still accelerates none-the-less, could this be that the Weber is adding much more fuel than the restrictive stock carb? Or am I doing something wrong, the throttle cable seems to be installed properly, the linkage nut is a bit loose, but none-the-less it seems to pull all the way, when I floor the pedal. Any input would be appreiated, ...

I know for sure I'm going to do something similer and have a air duct under the front bumper lol

The open filters I see people do seems like a waste I just imagin sucking hot air into the intake coming from everywhere under the hood

I have a Microsquirt ECU which is the smaller sealed case version of the Megaquirt. I am making a new manifold to go with the injection, I will go into this in more detail when this is complete (or at least farther on).

I wanted one of the fans to work with a temp switch and the other a normal switch (for heavy use or the nasty heat waves) The one on a normal switch I wired to a relay and just used a switch to kick the relay on. The temp switch was a little more tricky. First ...
