Glock- It's not too difficult. It was wired up correctly. There were only two connectors if memory serves. One goes from the distributor to the ignition module, thats the timing signall. That should be the Tercel parts on both ends. It should just plug in. The only reason to change that would be to lengthen the wires for mounting the module farther from the distributor. There is a second connector that goes from the ignition module to the wire harness. That brings power in to the module and a tach signal out to the instruments. As it goes to the wire harness you do need to wire that one up. I connected that to the wires that go to the 4AC distributor. I cut the plug off a 4AC distributor and and the chassis side plug off the Tercel to make an adapter harness. It was not pretty but if you redid the wiring it should work. It was in that box of stuff I sold you, I remember showing it to you. If you need more assistance let me know. You take some pictures and I can tell you what is what.

NP75, I have the dizzy from a 3A engine which uses a external coil. However, I'm unable to get the car to start, would I need a tercel igniter? And if so, how can I get one? They seem to be rare.

Yes, you need a Tercel igniter. You live in So Cal if memory serves, you should be able to get one at the wrecking yard. I got the one I sold to Glock at the wrecking yard. If you can't find one at the wrecking yard you can always buy a MSD ignition as some of them can function as an ignition module as well. But you want a 1AC igniter not 3AC, every 3AC I have seen has the same distributor as the 4AC.

I'm not exactly sure whether or not I have a 3A or a 1A dizzy but It accepts a external coil.

As far as I am concerned it will be a 1AC dizzy. The 3AC has the same dizzy as the 4AC. Unless you know specifically that it's something else, I would assume that it's a from a 1AC.

I haven't looked at it yet. I still have other things that I am going to get done to the car first... hehe. Maybe I'll take a pic of the wiring and we can do a diagram for the forum... might be better... |
